Section outline

    • Objectives:

      1.  Improving data quality, data availability at the county level  by understanding the unique issues therein in order to build capacity of top management at the County Government.
      2. Improve county government efficiency and cost-effectiveness in publishing relevant data.

       

      Summary of goals:

      1. Increasing data capabilities in the county government to improve the use data for problem solving.
      2. Help counties to be more efficient and cost-effective in providing data in increasingly overstretched and under-resourced environments when it comes to data. 
      3. Forge new synergies between government (official statistical systems), civil society and the private sector for data collection, analysis and use. 
      4. To improve county government efficiency and cost-effectiveness in publishing relevant data.

       

      Training Outcomes: 

      1. Understanding the current status and quality of the data available as a critical first step to identify critical areas for investments.
      2. Developing an objective/transparent view of the quality and availability of data and the mechanisms required for continued sustainability.
      3. Understanding ingredients for sustainability and scalability in strengthening the data ecosystem at the county government level.
      4. Development of a data maturity plan (that builds upon an assessment conducted by the external consultant) that reveals sectoral data and data management plans with desirable positive outcomes aligning to county priorities. 
      5. Strengthen citizen engagement practices within the county
      6. Sharing of good practices across participating counties.

      Making a Case for data (Kickoff)
